Paco Roncero

On April 23rd i volunteered for a class with Paco Roncero. I really didn't know much about him till then. Well Paco is known for Molecular Gastronomy, he has a kitchen in Spain that is just for creating new and crazy thing. I would of love to take pictures of his food but it was a really busy night and i didn't get the chance but i can tell you some of things we ate. He did a traditional potato torta and then he did a deconstructed potato torta(bassically the deconstrcuted one was served in a martini class, it had layers of diffrent ingredients. it was wierd!) He also did this liquid nitrogen bitesized thing, where he got people to come to the front and eat one and once they popped in their mouth smoke would come out of their noses. So crazy. He also made these half olive looking thing, i think it was suppose to make you think olive and when you put it your mouth it was totally different. He showed this plate of Ahi Tuna and played a video backwards to show that it wasn't ahi tuna it was actually watermelon. Check it out here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f08N2JKq_Rs

I ate at Arancini Trailer last night on South First Street. The food there is consider Italian. The place has a nice cozy place set up for where you can eat. I enjoyed the food there, i guess my favorite would be the three risotto balls (bottom picture). The top picture is the fresh cavatelli pasta, tomato butter, brussel sprout and mozzarella(this one took a little longer). The middle picture was fried brussel sprout with capers. I recommend checking this place out if you haven't been. The website is EatArancini.com

Referee!

I went to the 2011 USA Volleyball Open Championship in Dallas last weekend to watch a friend play in the Open. This is a picture of Volleyball Referee up in a stand. I really like how the lights on the ceiling turned out.

La Condesa

Just a couple of days ago, i got the chance to eat at La Condesa. I really didn't know what to expect from this place and i have to say i was pleasantly surprise. The top picture was an Ahi Tostada and the bottom picture was an Hamchi Grapefruit Cerviche. Also i had a side dish with Brussels Sprouts, Bacon, and Grapes. OMG! That dish was the my favorite. The grapes was a weird twist but it went well with the Brussels sprouts. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
